Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves #2 | May 9, 2020

Hey friends,

I hope you’re all doing well!

I definitely took this week off. I had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday and have felt a bit off since that appointment (which was to be expected). I’m feeling a bit better today and am hoping to catch up on writing reviews for the books I’ve read so far in May.

Book Boxes:

This week I got my Full Moon Magic box from OwlCrate and Break the Curse box from FairyLoot. I haven’t had a chance to open the FairyLoot box yet, but I think I got spoiled for the book. I should unboxing videos for both boxes up on my channel early this week!

Netgalley:

Nothing this week, though I have requested some titles.

ARCs/Sent for Review:

49247292

I received a super excited eARC from Tor this week! I got an eARC of Over the Woodward Wall by A. Deborah Baker (aka Seanan McGuire). To my understanding, this story is featured in Middlegame, in some capacity, and McGuire has brought the full story to life. I absolutely love that more authors are doing this and knowing that this book was an extension of Middlegame has pushed it so much higher on my TBR!

Purchased (Kindle):

The only book I purchased from Kindle this period was The Dare by Harley LaRoux. I heard Chelsea talk about this one in her weekend smutathon TBR and it sounded right up my ally. I’m so so happy I picked this one up, I have actually read it already and I adored it (my review will be up this week!) There are some major TWs for this book, so please check those out, especially if you’re new to some of the kinks mentioned. LaRoux has listed all the TWs in the synopsis and they are available on the Goodreads page.

Purchased (Physical):

Some of my orders have arrived. I’ve purchased the Second Era Mistborn Trilogy. I tried to read Alloy of Law in April and feel like I missed a lot, so I wanted to try reading it again with the physical book to see if that improves my enjoyment.

Also, I saw a lot of people, most notable Riley, talk about The Deep and it got me super intrigued.

Library:

Between Hoopla and Overdrive I have quite a few books checked out. Most of these books are on my TBR for May.

I’m super excited to get to these books.

The Last Time I Lied is a reread for me, but I wanted to write a review for it as it’s one of my all-time favorite thrillers.

The One has such an interesting premise and I’m excited to finally check it out.

Crier’s War, Serpent & Dove, and Bone Crier’s Moon have all gotten so much hype I’m excited to get to them! Also, I’m super stoked to actually get through some of my book box books since I’ve been letting those pile up quite a bit.

Hid Hideous Heart is an anthology I’ve wanted to get to for a while now. This anthology is all Poe retellings. As a huge Poe lover, I definitely was excited for this and have just been putting off getting to it.

Have you hauled any books this week?

Let me know below!
