Hey friends,
Happy December everyone!
Well, despite there being a ton of movies I wanted to see in November, I didn’t end up going at all. I had a pretty mentally draining month and the idea of going to the movies was a bit much.
However, I’m hoping that changes for December.
There aren’t that many movies I want to see this month, but those that are coming out are some I’ve been highly anticipating all year.
December Releases:
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — Listen, Spiderman is one of my favorite Marvel heroes. I will probably see every adaptation Marvel and Sony produce. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been seeing adverts for this one since like February and I was starting to lose interest. That being said, the latest trailer(s) have shown the main conflict which sounds pretty interesting. Also this will be the last Stan Lee cameo (kind of). We know Marvel has prerecorded a bunch of cameos, but this one we know for sure was recorded before his passing.
Aquaman — Soooooo, I haven’t seen any of the DCEU movies other than Suicide Squad, which I didn’t love. That being said, I love Jason Morma so much and I am so excited to see how he brings Aquaman to life. I’m pretty sure Aquaman was in the Justice League movie, but since I haven’t seen that, I don’t know how the character is. But, yeah, I’m still pretty excited for this one. I may watch the other DCEU movies before this one, but from what I understand, I don’t think I’m going to need to.
Mary Poppins Returns — Mary Poppins was such an important movie in my childhood and I’m actually really excited to see how Disney continues this iconic story. Am I a bit nervous? Of course, there’s a lot they can do wrong, but I’m hoping that Disney has approached this one a bit more carefully than some of their other reboots/remakes.
Mortal Engines — I had no clue this movie was coming out until like a week ago when I first saw the advert. I love the concept behind this movie and I am actually really excited to see this one. My sister and I were talking the other day. She just finished the book this movie is inspired by and really enjoyed it, so I may try to squeeze that in (if I have time) before going to see the movie.
Welcome to Marwen — This is easily my most anticipated movie for the month. I’ve been seeing adverts for this one for a few months now and every time I do, I just find myself more and more excited for this one. I feel like this is going to be a super heartbreaking story and I’m ready to be crushed and moved right before the holidays.
Okay fellow movie buffs, what movies are you looking forward to in December?
Be sure to let me know below!
Aquaman, without a doubt! Pretty much drooled over Jason Mamoa when he frequently passed the YALC floor back in July so.. yeah. I cannot say no to that movie, haha.
Still have to watch Crimes of Grindelwald too.. Oopsies..
