Hey friends,
Sorry for the late posts this week! My sleep schedule is pretty wonky and I’ve been waking up pretty late in the day (and I haven’t prescheduled any postsย ๐ฌ). I have a few things left on today’s to-do list and once that’s done, I’ll be able to actually get some blog-related stuff done!
But with all of that being said, let’s jump into today’s post!
For those of you not familiar, Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over atย Breaking the Spine. This meme spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases. 2018 has a ton of amazing books coming out so it will be super easy to highlight a release for the rest of the year.
This week’s pick:
This week I’m highlighting To Be Honest byMaggie Ann Martin!
Synopsis:
Savannah is dreading being home alone with her overbearing mother after her sister goes off to college. But if she can just get through senior year, she’ll be able to escape to college, too. What she doesn’t count on is that her mother’s obsession with weight has only grown deeper since her appearance on an extreme weight-loss show, and now Savvy’s mom is pressuring her even harder to be constantly mindful of what she eats.
Between her mom’s diet-helicoptering, missing her sister, and worrying about her collegiate future, Savvy has enough to worry about. And then she meets George, the cute new kid at school who has insecurities of his own. As Savvy and George grow closer, they help each other discover how to live in the moment and enjoy the here and now before it disappears.
Predictions:
I heard Chelsea from chelseadolling reads talk about this book in one of her reading vlogs and immediately wanted to get my hands on it. This sounds like such an important and powerful story that will discuss body positivity, loving yourself, and will have a great family dynamic.
As a plus size reader that struggles with loving/accepting myself, I’m really excited to read a book about a plus sized girl that loves herself and a book that discusses healthy lifestyles!
This book releases on August 21st and I seriously cannot wait!
