Monthly Wrap-Ups

May 2018 | Wrap-Up

Hi friends!

Happy Pride Month and BEA/Bookcon hangover! I hope you’re all having a great first week of June.

I’ve been working hard finishing my thesis (the last step before I’m OFFICALLY graduated!) and I’m truly excited to be done. I’ve been working on the stats for the last week and am truly ready to just wrap this up haha.

But despite the chaos that was May, I did manage to get 4 books read!

Here’s that BookTube video if you rather have it on in the background:

The books:

Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oaks

Rating: 3.75/5

Review: This was an interesting take on the Queen of Hearts story, though it’s kind of forgettable. When I read it at the beginning of the month, I enjoyed it and was intrigued to see where the story was going, but a few weeks later I’m honestly struggling to remember enough details to write this review. I know it was more political and there were some interesting twists and turns, but there’s nothing that helps this one stand out. I would definitely need to read a spoilery review or reread the book before continuing on with the third book.

Blood of Wonderland by Colleen Oaks

Rating: 3.75/5

Review: Many of my thoughts hold true for this one too. I do remember this one being a bit slower, clearly building up for something in book three and adding more depth to the characters. That being said, there wasn’t much plot. Again, I’d have to reread the book or read a spoilery review before going on to book 3.

The Law of Tall Girls by Joanne Macgregor

Rating: 4/5

Review: Full review available here.

Lies You Never Told Me by Jennifer Donaldson

Rating: 4.5/5

Review: Full review (and Book Tag!!) available here.
