Snow Day Reading List | Winter Bibib Day 1

Hi friends,

I hope you’re all having an amazing day. I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Unhinged by A. G. Howard, editing YouTube videos and hanging out with Alastor. I’ve really enjoyed watching some of the entries for the first Winter Bibib Video Challenge and cannot wait to see the rest of the entries. Same for the blog and Instagram challenges!

The first blog challenge for Winter Bibib was to create our snow day reading list! When I think of snow day reads, I think of books that you want to marathon, curled up in bed with a warm drink. Here are some books I think make (or will make) great snow day reads!

The list:

Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett – I haven’t read this book yet, but I’m saving it for the next snow day. This book takes place in a stunning mountain setting and it said to be a perfect winter read.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor – This book is perfect for when you just want to curl up with a think fantasy book and get lost in a magical world. Laini Taylor has such a beautiful writing style and is best experienced when you can allow yourself to get fully engrossed.

Illuminae by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff – This fast-paced unique sci-fi read is great for those who want to escape the cold outdoors and get lost in a space adventure. I talk about this book way too much, but it’s one of my favorites. If you haven’t read this one yet, you should consider picking it up this winter!

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire – Like Illuminae, the Wayward Children’s series are books perfect for those who want to escape. These short stories pack a mighty punch and the worlds Seanan McGuire creates are so captivating.

Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling – Nothing beats a snow day like revisiting a favorite and comforting world. Revisiting the wizarding world is a great way to forget the freezing world outside.

 

Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan – A new favorite, the Percy Jackson series (like Harry Potter) is an action-packed, binge-worthy series that are great for disappearing for an hour….or 5. On snow days, I like escaping the cold, and this series (and the numerous spinoffs) definitely help!

Origin by Dan Brown – The last book I’m going to include is Origin because action-packed thrillers are the other books I find myself craving on snow days if I’m not reading fantasy (or sci-fi). One of the things I love about the Dan Brown books is that they take you on a trip of Europe while solving an artistic mystery routed in the grey area beyond science and religion. While these books are not for everyone, they are some that I will continue to crave.
