Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday |Little Monsters by Kara Thomas

Hey friends,

Happy one week into the new year! I hope you’re all still sticking to your resolutions and that the first week was good for you! I was getting over some illness I picked up in MN, catching up on ARCs I needed to read for upcoming blog tours, and staying on track in my online class.Ā So far my 2018 is off to a strong start and I’m hoping to stay on track this year.

How is your 2018 going so far?

As you’re all aware, today is Monday (at least it still is in the States) meaning it Goodreads Monday!Ā For those of you not familiar with this meme, Goodreads Mondays originated on Lauren’s Page Turners’ blog. To participate, you just showcase a random book from your Goodreads page. The twist is that I’m only going to feature my TBR shelf (aka theĀ ā€œwant to read ā€œshelf) Ā like many other people do so I guess it’s notĀ that much of a twist, BUUUUUT, I’m also going to predict my star rating of the book! I’ve seen both Regan (PeruseProject) and Sam (Thoughts on Tomes) do 5 Star TBR Prediction YouTube videos and have been inspired to do a video or post but was struggling to find some 5-Star predictions. This is kind of my middle ground where I can predict my star rating and why and then revisit this post after I read it to see how close I actually was.

To pick the books for this, I’m putting my Goodreads want to read shelf number in a random number generator and letting fate pick the number for me. The lucky number for this week was 228 and as you can see from the title, the lucky book was Little Monsters by Kara Thomas.

Synopsis

Kacey is the new girl in Broken Falls. When she moved in with her father, she stepped into a brand-new life. A life with a stepbrother, a stepmother, and strangest of all, an adoring younger half sister.

Kacey’s new life is eerily charming compared with the wild highs and lows of the old one she lived with her volatile mother. And everyone is so nice in Broken Falls—she’s even been welcomed into a tight new circle of friends. Bailey and Jade invite her to do everything with them.

Which is why it’s so odd when they start acting distant. And when they don’t invite her to the biggest party of the year, it doesn’t exactly feel like an accident.

But Kacey will never be able to ask, because Bailey never makes it home from that party. Suddenly, Broken Falls doesn’t seem so welcoming after all—especially once everyone starts looking to the new girl for answers.

Kacey is about to learn some very important lessons: Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. Sometimes when you’re the new girl, you shouldn’t trust anyone.

Star Rating Prediction:

āļøāļøāļøāļø – 4 (or 5)/5

I’ve heard nothing but hype for this book and I think its one that I’m going to enjoy. This could potentially be a 5 star read for me, but I’m going to (officially) predict it as a 4 since the twist can be the deciding factor.

Now,Ā I don’t know much about this book, but I tend to go into thrillers blind. I just like letting the story develop and getting engrossed. I don’t own this book yet,Ā but I am dying to get my hands on it and am hoping to read it in 2018.
