Hi friends,
So I will not be doing the TTT for today, as the prompt is one I plan on doing at the end of the month. So instead, we’ll just be having a #TagTuesday! HUGE thank you to Tasheena from Dear Reader for the tag! Like many readers, my TBR is getting a bit out of control and this tag is a fun way to reflect on it!
[When I eventually film again, I’ll have a video of this tag inserted here.]
Questions:
1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I heavily rely on Goodreads. Anytime a book sounds interesting or is a book I want to read, I add it to my Goodreads TBR shelf. There are some books I own that haven’t made it to my shelf yet, but usually they make it on to the shelf before I actually read it.
2. Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Print, though my NetGalley and Kindle books are starting to catch up.
3. A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?
Easily City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I bought the book after seeing the movie. I felt like I was missing something and wanted to read the series to catch up. After seeing how many books were in the series, I got a bit overwhelmed and ended up pushing the book down on my TBR. Fast forward to today and it’s still not read.
4. A book you recently added to your TBR?
I’ve added a lot of books recently, but one of the ones I’m most eager to read is The Phantom of New York Volume 1. I have an ARC of this one and the premise sounds super interesting. I’m eager to see if the story holds up!
5. A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
Easily Where the Stars Rise: Asian Science Fiction and Fantasy. I got this ARC from NetGalley and the stunning cover easily sold me on it!
6. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
There aren’t really any books I’ve added that I never plan on reading, but one that’s not as high of a priority is Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I honestly thought that it was a standalone. I don’t have any real motivation to pick up the next book, though that can change.
7. An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
I actually have a shelf on Goodreads for my 2018 Anticipated Release and a blog post talking about them too. But one that’s coming out soon that my greedy little hands can’t wait to get on is Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan Mcguire. I love the first two books and can’t wait to see how the story develops.
8. A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?
A Court of Thornes and Roses. I haven’t read any Sarah J. Maas books and despite the controversy surrounding her books, several people have said the second book in this series, A Court of Mist and Fury is really good.
[EDIT: Sorry about misspeaking! I was told there is diversity in the books and have since removed that comment. I heard some booktubers talk about the lack of diversity in the books, which is where I got the opinion from! Having not read the books yet, I was misinformed! ]
9. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
ACOTAR again lol. But to keep things different, I’m going to pick Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill. I’ve seen so much hype for this book on bookstagram and cant’ wait to finally pick it up!
10. A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
Most of them? One stand out that has continued to pique my interest is Keeper by Kim Chance. The plot for this book is so intriguing and the cover is stunning! This is one of my high priority NetGalley ARCs.
11. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
475 😬
