Read-A-Thon TBR

Another Read-A-Thon?! | September 24-Hour Read-A-Thon

Hello friends!

I hope you all liked this full week of posts! I’m going to try to keep up with this schedule. I really enjoy getting a lot of content out for you guys!

I’m thrilled to announce that the second round of the @TBRKnockDown24 24-Hour Read-A-Thon will be happening this weekend! I’m super excited for this read-a-thon since my reading has been weird this month. I’ve gotten a lot of reading done already (this will probably be one of my largest reading months yet!) but have barely touched my TBR. I’m planning on using this read-a-thon to catch up on reading the ARCs that have been sitting on my coffee table all month.

If you want to join this read-a-thon be sure to let us know ASAP! There is going to be a giveaway and all those participating are automatically entered. This will be happening through Instagram, so be sure to check out their page for details! The read-a-thon will start at 8pm AEST/11am GMT (6:30am Eastern Time). I may start at midnight and read all day Saturday. For updates, be sure to follow me on Insta!

Tentative TBR:

Physical Books:

Gemini by Sonja Mukherjee

Goodreads Synopsis:

  • Seventeen-year-old conjoined twins Clara and Hailey have lived in the same small town their entire livesโ€”no one stares at them anymore. But there are cracks in their quiet existence, and theyโ€™re slowly becoming more apparent.

Clara and Hailey are at a crossroads. Clara wants to stay close to home, avoid all attention, and study the night sky. Hailey wants to travel the world, learn from great artists, and dance with mysterious boys.

As high school graduation approaches, each twin must untangle her dreams from her sisterโ€™s, and figure out what it means to be her own person.

I was sent this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Not only is the cover of this one STUNNING but I think the premise is super interesting. From the synopsis, I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like this before and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds. Despite the mixed reviews on Goodreads, I’m looking forward to seeing what I think of this one!

Deadly Proof by Rachel Dylan

Goodreads Synopsis:

  • In the biggest case of her career, attorney Kate Sullivan is tapped as lead counsel to take on Mason Pharmaceutical because of a corporate cover-up related to its newest drug. After a whistleblower dies, Kate knows the stakes are much higher than her other lawsuits.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James is still haunted by mistakes made while serving overseas. Trying to forget the past, he is hired by Kate to look into the whistleblower’s allegation and soon suspects that the company may be engaging in a dangerous game for profit. He also soon finds himself falling for this passionate and earnest young lawyer.ย

Determined not to make the same mistakes, he’s intent on keeping Kate safe, but as the case deepens, it appears someone is willing to risk everything–even murder–to keep the case from going to trial.

I received this book from Bethany House Publishing in exchange for an honest review. I’m so excited to read this one. The plot sound amazing and after binging on fantasy for the last couple weeks, a thriller is going to be a great change of pace. There’s a bunch of positive reviews on Goodreads, so I’m hoping this one lives up to the hype!

Take Taker by J. M. Steele

Goodreads Synopsis:

  • Carly Biels tanks on the SAT’s, and when she gets a mysterious note from The Taker, she can’t resist the stranger’s offer to take the test for her. Once she’s hired someone to take the test for her, what if she gets caught?

I remember loving this one in high school and I’m super excited to reread it to see if it still holds up. I’m reading this one for my Throwback Thursday for this month. Throwback Thursday was created by Julie from Pages and Pens. For more details, feel free to check out her original video:

Continuing my Rick Riordan binge, I’m going to listen to either Son of Neptune or Mark of Athena, depending on where I am by the weekend.

Are you participating? What books are you going to read?
