Hey everyone!
My OwlCrate arrived on the earlier side this month (June 16th) and I was thrilled to dive in. I was a bit apprehensive about this month’s theme, but I was pleasantly surprised. This box was super fun (and so green)! There are still more boxes available until June 20th! If you want to pick up one up, there will be a link below!
May’s theme was “Make It Out Alive.”
💀☠️ Spoilers for the June 2017 OwlCrate!☠️💀
The contents of the box were:
💀The first thing in the box was the spoiler card and pin inspired by this month’s theme. I am loving this artwork!
☠️ Exclusive magnet inspired by An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir created by Little Inkling Design. The text reads “Fear is only your enemy if you allow it to be.”
💀 Divergent-inspired bath bomb made by Fizzy Fairy Apothecary. Each bath bomb has a charm inspired by the four factions. This was made exclusively for OwlCrate as well.
☠️ Double sided bookmark with quotes from A Court of Thrones and Roses by Sarah J. Maas created by Hey Atlas Creative. Side 1 has the quote “Remember that you are a wolf and you cannot be caged.” Side 2 has the quote “You do not fear … you do not falter. You do not yield.”
💀 We also got a Zombie sleep mask created by Archie McPhee.
☠️ A patch inspired by The Giver by Lois Lowry created by Laserbrain Patch Co featuring the red apple that Jonah discovers in the book.
💀 OwlCrate also revealed that we would be getting a second book from Oftomes Publishing. The book was New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson. This books is said to be an intense read about a girl named Phoenix trying to survive the ruthless dystopian city she calls home. This book looks absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to check it out.
☠️ Last but not least, we have the book of the month. If you guys read my unboxing post for May’s OwlCrate, you can see my guess for this month’s book. Yeah, I was wrong. The book of the month is The Sandcastle Empire by Kayla Olson. When a revolutionary group called The Wolfpack takes over the world, holding both people and resources hostage, the future looks bleak. Luckily, Eden knows how to reach the last bit of neutral land left, called Sanctuary Island, and she’ll do anything to make it there alive. But once Eden and her friends arrive on its shores, nothing is as expected. And when on of her comrades goes missing in the night, suddenly the island feels more deadly and dangerous than the brutal world she left behind. This book is said to have an intense mix of dystopian, environmental, and survival elements weaved throughout it. This book also came with a signed book plate, a letter from the author and an exclusive sticker sheet.
I really enjoyed this box. I was surprised how green this box (honestly, look how green!) was, not that I’m subscribing. I can’t wait to dive into these books. I don’t read many dystopian books and I’m thrilled that I have 2 to check out. Those of you who got this box? What did you think?
✈️🌴Book Prediction!✈️🌴
One thing I love to do is to try to guess the book for the following month.
July’s theme is Wanderlust!
I don’t have a solid guess for July. Maybe Changes in Latitudes by Jen Malone or Chasing Eveline by Leslie Hauser?
What do you think the book is going to be? Let me know in the comments!
What did you think of the contents of this month’s box?
Interested in July’s box? OwlCrate just announced that there will be an item inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them! Boxes go on sale June 21st!
